Brackenfell police officers marked the launch of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign last week.
And, together with City law enforcement, they also held a roadblock in Bottelary Road to get unsafe vehicles off the road ahead of the festive season.
“About 87 vehicles were pulled over. One arrest was made for possession of dagga and possession of dangerous weapon.
“Fines to the value of R13 800 were issued,” said police spokeswoman, Captain Erica Crous.
Victim support volunteers, along with members of the neighbourhood watch and farm watch, handed out pamphlets at the roadblock with information about sexual offences and crimes against Women and children.
Children from the farms also carried posters about child abuse.
