The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department will be shutting off the water supply to the Plattekloof 3 area on Tuesday January 18, from 11am to 3pm.
The City says this will enable the safe completion of construction work on the main water supply to the area and will result in the disruption of supply to Baronetcy Estate, Kleinmeer Estate, Little Rock Estate, Leopard Rock Estate, Villa Caponero Estate, and De Plattekloof Lifestyle Estate.
The work involves cutting into the pipeline to connect a pressure reduction valve to the water supply network.
Residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers upfront for domestic use during this period and ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.
This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Strategy. Managing water pressure more effectively reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage.
The City regrets any inconvenience the shutting off of the water supply may cause.
