People from across Cape Town came together for some serious tabletop gaming with the launch of the Festival of Games in Durbanville on Saturday.
Two companies launched the festival simultaneously at the Durbanville Town Hall and a venue in Germiston, Gauteng, according to Etienne Leroux, the projects manager of one of the companies.
The games included Catan, Ticket to Ride, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Spot It, Five Second Rule, Bananagrams, Qwirkle, Pass the Bob, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Pandemic and more.
“Families, friends and everyone can come through to a very cool venue to come and sit down and enjoy these games. We have staff that are here to teach you, so you don’t need to sit and worry about figuring out the rules on your own,” said Mr Leroux.
They are planning to hold monthly events across the country, he said.
