Police have arrested a 26-year-old man accused of burgling a house in Goodwood.
According to police spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis, Warrant Officer Jacques Pieters and Constable Mlindile Dastile were patrolling Malherbe Road on Saturday February 16, at 7am, when they saw a broken window and bent burglar bars.
“Police found car parts outside the window of the house and heard a commotion inside,” he said.
The officers waited outside and arrested the man as he had crawled out of the house.
In another incident, on Wednesday February 20, police arrested two men wanted for separate business burglaries. Â
The one man who was arrested in Voortrekker Road is accused of stealing copper pipes from a business last year.
The second man, according to Captain Theunis, “He was caught in his bed in Gugulethu at an address that police had visited many times.”
He was wanted for for robbing a Voortrekker Road store on Friday November 4 in 2011.
Police also arrested a 26-year-old woman following a mugging in Goodwood.
The woman and the two alleged accomplices are accused of robbing a woman of her cellphone in Socony Road on Sunday February 17 at 8:40pm.
“Warrant Officer Denvin Sebastian and Sergeant Dean Snyders were patrolling the area when they heard a scream. The pair witnessed how the trio robbed a woman. Two ran away, but police managed to arrest a woman – still with her hands inside the victim’s bag,” said Captain Theunis.
