Police have arrested a Wallacedene man who allegedly ran a chop shop in the area, stripping stolen cars and parts worth R4 million.
The man is believed to have been in cahoots with hijackers responsible for a series of vehicle thefts, including trucks, in the northern part of the province, according to police spokeswoman Ndakhe Gwala.
She said more arrests could follow.
Four vehicles and several car parts were recovered at the alleged chop shop, said Ms Gwala.
The suspect was arrested for the possession of stolen vehicles and appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday May 25.
