The body of Phillip Volschenk, 16, of Brackenfell, was found next to the railway line in Stikland yesterday, Tuesday April 4, police say.
Phillip was reported missing on Monday April 3 after he was last seen at Brackenfell train station that day.
An intensive search ensued, with neighbourhood watches even requesting that residents volunteer their drones to assist.
Yesterday, Pieter Loftus posted a map of the area where Phillip disappeared, on Facebook and said: “Our neighbourhood watch is looking for help from anyone with a drone that may legally fly it over the area. We are still looking for Phillip Volschenk,16, that went missing yesterday. Please inbox me.”
Provincial police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said the circumstances surrounding his death were being investigated.
