A suspected drug dealer was arrested in Durbanville after he was caught with mandrax tablets and bankies of khat, say police.
Traffic police were patrolling in Stellenberg last Saturday when they noticed a woman running away from a vehicle, which sped off when they approached, said a City statement.
The officers pulled the vehicle over and recovered nearly R1000 in cash and drugs that had been thrown from it, the City said.
Durbanville police spokesperson Captain Marchell Rhode said the man was found in possession of four mandrax tablets and four bankies of khat. He was charged with reckless and negligent driving, possession of drugs, and suspected drug dealing.
