Donita Stephens from Scottsville has a passion for helping others.
The 43-year-old retail worker has opened her door to those struggling financially in the community.
Ms Stephens has offered to help more than 50 families with food parcels during the lockdown.
According to Stephens, her “passion” for community work initially focused on youths with drug habits and the elderly.
“However with the outbreak of Covid-19, the need in our communities is so great that I now help whoever I can,” she said.
Her food hampers are distributed in areas like Kraaifontein, Durbanville, Ruyterwacht and Eersterivier, and she pays for the food from her own pocket.
She said people knew she had an open-door policy when it came to helping the needy.
