The Hawks arrested three suspects in a weekend raid on a Kraaifontein farm where they found dagga with an estimated street value of R10 million.
According to provincial Hawks spokeswoman Zinzi Hani, the Sunday raid netted 200kg of dagga, 272 small cannabis plants and 184 big cannabis trees. Laptops and cellphones were also seized.
A 36-year-old man and 38-year-old woman each posted R20 000 bail at the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court on Monday April 12. Ms Hani said they were charged with dealing in drugs.
A 51-year-old man was arrested on a bribery charge after he arrived during the arrests and allegedly offered the policemen a bribe of R5 000 to let the case slide. He has posted bail of R1000.
The three suspects are due to appear in court again on Tuesday June 6.
