Grace Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organisation, has until August to vacate its Joostenbergvlakte premises and find a new home.
The owner of the site has plans to develop it, according to Caron Burger, the founder of the NPO.
The sanctuary is home to 40 dogs, two ponies, two cows, four sheep, four cats and five humans.
“As an NPO solely reliant on public donations and after investing everything we had in the current property to install water, electricity, geysers, build camps, paint and plaster we are terribly stressed,” she said.
The organisation has also been running a soup kitchen in Wesbank since 2020.
“If anyone can have a farm for us in the northern suburbs, it would be fabulous,” Ms Burger said.
