A Bellville musician has written a song to raise money for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
Jimm Harrisson Project lead singer Jan-Hendrik Fourie wrote the lyrics to the track Amen in May. The band and other musos – Mark Haze, Johan “Fatman” Brummer, Almarie du Preez, Gerry Liberty, acapella group 8 Misses Croon and Deon Meiring – collaborated on a music video at Woodstock’s Roodebloem Studio.
It was released on YouTube at the beginning of September and some of the hopsital’s young patients can be seen in it.
In July last year, Jan-Hendrik and 8 Misses Croon performed in a benefit concert that raised R20 000 for Keanu Moore, 4, who was diagnosed neuroblastoma cancer.
Pauline Solomons, of the Children’s Hospital Trust, says they were thrilled when they first heard of Fourie’s plans.
“We are always grateful to partner with individuals, groups, or clubs that want to make a difference in the lives of children who are less fortunate.”
They gave Jan-Hendrik and his band and tour of the hospital and showed them the plans for a new emergency centre.
Amen is available on iTunes, Spotify or Google Play. Searh for “Jim Harisson Project en Vriende – Amen” to find the song on YouTube. SMS “Amen” to 40645 to donate R30.Â
