■ Bronwyn George, from the Durbanville Children’s Home, has his sights set on the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, after earning his Western Province school colours in cross country and winning gold at the Cell C Day of Races. It all started for Bronwyn when Jana van Rensburg, marketing and fund-raising assistant at the home, and her husband, Jacques, took Bronwyn along to participate in one of the home’s trail runs. Bronwyn obliterated the other participants, and the Van Rensburgs, who are avid runners, decided to take him to more races. “The big question now is whether Bronwyn can qualify for the Olympics in 2020. To run a time of 13:25 is not easy, but we will support him in chasing his dream. Thanks to our supporters we can help Bronwyn and we appreciate every donation,” said Ms Van Rensburg.
