Three suspects have been denied bail due to outstanding warrants for fines of over R250 000.
Officers of the Warrant Task Team went out looking for suspects on the top 100 list for outstanding warrants this morning.
One of the suspects, who’s at number 74 on the non-taxi and non-proxy list, was arrested at his house in Goodwood with 46 outstanding warrants to the monetary value of R37 450.
The second suspect, who stays in Parow Valley, was number 68 on the taxi list.
He was stopped in Voortrekker Road, Parow. He was arrested for 38 outstanding warrants to the monetary value of R78 950.
Another suspect from Joe Slovo, who was number 31 on the taxi list, was stopped in Koeberg Road, Brooklyn. He was arrested for 54 outstanding warrants to the monetary value of R138 100.
City of Cape Town Traffic Service spokesperson Richard Coleman said, “The suspects all appeared at Parow Municipal Court and no bail was granted on their cases and are currently in Goodwood Prison till their next hearing.”  Â
