About 150 people took part in a fun run and shavathon organised by Kuils River Mrs South Africa finalist Anita Momberg, at Zevenwacht Wine Estate, on Saturday.
The fund-raiser was in aid of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).
Participants could shave or spray their hair before doing the 5km run. Entry was R120 for adults and R100 for children under 13.
Ms Momberg said she hoped to make the event an annual one as her mother, Tersia Murray, had been diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer in May.
“She had the opportunity to shave off the last strands of hair as her hair started falling out because of the chemotherapy. My sister opted to shave her hair and I sprayed my locks to show my mom support,” Ms Momberg said.
She is among 30 finalists who will compete in the Mrs South Africa pageant finals in November.
Fadwa Walker, from Cansa, thanked Ms Momberg for her support.
