A man has been arrested in Fisantekraal for carrying an illegal firearm and ammunition, say police.
Officers were investigating a complaint about a kangaroo court in Fisantekraal early on Monday morning when they were tipped off about someone carrying an illegal firearm.
“They started searching the persons around them and found a man with a firearm and ammunition in his possession. The firearm’s serial number was filed away,” said Durbanville police spokesman Captain Marchell Rhode.
The man was arrested and appeared in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday July 26.
