The article “Drieka’s music mends hearts”, Northern News, October 31, contained the wrong picture and some inaccuracies as pointed out by Brackenfell gospel artist, Drieka Golden, pictured.
Ms Golden only had one son who was shot dead at the age of 34, not 22. Ms Golden’s brother drowned in the river when he was 6, not 7 and her sister didn’t “fall ill” – she fell at school and broke her arm.
During the operation to her arm in hospital, she was given the wrong gas in the oxygen cylinder, resulting in her death.
A court case proved the hospital’s negligence. We apologise for the errors.
