A Durbanville non-profit organisation would appreciate support with their winter sock drive for the needy.
Angels in Action helps people of all ages in disadvantaged communities as well as those with disabilities, according to the non-profit organisation’s founder and CEO Louise Lategan.
“We also in the process of implementing skills development for high school children in the future, to empower and equip them to become independent and responsible adults,” she said.
Over Easter, the organisation donated 600 hot cross buns to Durbanville police station and fire station as well as to various old-age homes and 800 Easter eggs to Worcester Hospital, a children’s home and Durbanville Lions Club.
“As with every other NGO, we also depend on donations, contributions and financial funding. We are grateful to every person that unconditionally opened their hearts to us to make every outreach possible so far,” Ms Lategan said.
The organisation is now collecting knitted or shop-bought socks to help the needy stay warm over winter.
Donations of toiletries, stationery and pet food are also needed along with garden forks, compost and vegetable seed for a school food garden project.
