A missing eight-year-old boy was found roaming the streets of Protea Heights, Brackenfell.
Security officer John Countinho was patrolling the area just before 8pm on Thursday March 26 when a resident told him about the boy who was going from door-to-door looking for help to get home.
It is believed that the boy is from Wellington.
He then started searching the area and found the boy on the corner of Sauvignon and Witteboom streets.
Verena Hulme, Cape Town North district manager at Fidelity ADT said the officer asked the boy where his home was but the child wasn’t sure where he lived or where his parents were.
“Brackenfell police were also called to the scene, and they were able to determine that the boy was from Wellington,” she said.
Ms Hulme added that the boy is still with social workers.
Brackenfell police spokewoman, Captain Erica Crous was unable to provide more information.
“Social services are dealing with this issue. I cannot comment on this,” she said.
