A gun stolen in the Northern Cape in October last year was found in Scottsdene at the house of a known gangster, say police.
Police arrested the 20-year-old man and recovered the Glock pistol during a raid on his Didi Street home on Tuesday April 20.
Kraaifontein police spokesman Hein Hendricks said the gun had been stolen in Delportshoop in October last year.
“The suspect, a known gang member, was arrested on possession of an illegal firearm charge and detained at Kraaifontein SAPS. The suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court once he is charged. The firearm will be sent for ballistic testing to determine if it was used in other crimes,” Captain Hendricks said.
