Dr Matodsi Mukosi is the new chief executive officer at Cape Town’s largest hospital.
Health MEC Dr Nomafrench Mbombo said she was thrilled to have Dr Mukosi, 51, take up the position. He is the former CEO of Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
“I trust him to continue with the great work that has already been done at Tygerberg Hospital and wish him success,” she said.
Dr Mukosi said he was prepared to take on the challenges that the 1384-bed hospital faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Mukosi’s qualifications include a medical degree (MBChB) from Medunsa, a postgraduate diploma in health management and an MBA from Stellenbosch University.
