The City of Cape Town’s water and sanitation department will conduct emergency repairs of the main water supply to the Bellville South area tonight.Â
The repairs will involve the replacement of a faulty valve on a pipeline. This will result in the disruption of the water supply from 9pm on Tuesday January 29 and work is expected to be completed by 5am on Wednesday January 30.
A water tanker will be placed at Abdurahman Street in Bellville South. Residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period.
All taps must be kept closed during this period to prevent any water loss or damage when the water supply is restored.
