Police arrested several people in Fisantekraal and Durbanville at the weekend for ignoring Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
“Several spaza shop owners in Fisantekraal and Greenville did not close by the times stipulated by the lockdown regulations and were arrested and given fines,” said Durbanville police spokesman Captain Marchell Rhode.
Meanwhile, two men were arrested, in separate incidents in Durbanville, one on a charge of malicious damage to property, the other on a charge of possession of stolen property.
“A male suspect was arrested in the Villiera Complex in Plataan Street for malicious damage and trespassing while another male was found in possession of stolen property in Amadeus Street in Uitzicht. Both suspects were also arrested for not being confined to their own residence.”
A third man was arrested in Greenville on a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon and for not being confined to his residence.
