A 33-year-old Belhar man has been arrested for theft out of a car in Protea Heights, Brackenfell.
Brackenfell police spokeswoman Erica Crous said a vigilant neighbour had heard noise outside his Vergenoegd Street house at 11.20pm and spotted a man in his neighbour’s bakkie.
He alerted the owner and called a private security firm. The security guards saw a man in the street clutching a bag.
“When he saw the security officers, he threw the bag to the side and attempted to run away but was apprehended,“ Captain Crous said.
