The Netcare N1 City Hospital Covid-19 vaccination site has relocated to Old Mutual Park, in Jan Smuts Road, Pinelands.
Individuals who have received an SMS directing them to the Covid-19 vaccination site in Goodwood should report to the vaccination site in Pinelands instead, as vaccinations are no longer administered at Netcare N1 City Hospital.
“The vaccination site at Netcare N1 City Hospital could unfortunately provide only around 200 vaccinations per day,” says Jacques du Plessis, managing director of Netcare’s hospital division. “With the joint initiative between ourselves and Old Mutual we were able to set up a much larger, better equipped site with ample administrative support.”
Mr Du Plessis said that the facility at Old Mutual had an initial capacity of about 1400 vaccinations a day, which could be upscaled.
“While Netcare staff still do the vaccinations, the administrative support is rendered by Old Mutual. Our overall objective with the joint initiative is to ensure that many more South Africans are able to receive their vaccinations,” he said.
The Old Mutual vaccination centre has a kiosk where volunteers from community-outreach programmes supported by Old Mutual can assist individuals who have not been able to register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System.
