Sunningdale bright sparks, Thandolwethu Mazibuko, 15, a Grade 9 pupil at Table View High School, and his brother Qwami, 14, a Grade 7 pupil at Sunningdale Primary School, impressed at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Western Cape North regional championships held at Parklands College at the weekend.
The siblings, both members of Kids Innovate Africa, in Sandown Square, which offers youngsters courses in robotics and coding, have now qualified to take part in the national championships in Gauteng later this year.
For the competition, they had to create robots by coding them to acquire points based on speed, accuracy and instructions given to them.
