Off-season sevens tournament in Langa

Homeboyz 7s social club and Titans Women’s Rugby Academy, from Knysna, started their off-season on a high note following their wins at the Homeboyz sevens rugby tournament, at the Langa sports complex, last weekend.

Homeboyz beat a strong Kraaifontein Spartans team 14-10 in the final, while Titans outplayed Busy Bees women’s team 59-5 to be the women’s section’s champions.

Teams came from as far as Macassar, Knysna, Kraaifontein and Eersterivier.

The players from Homeboyz also honoured one of their fallen heroes, Xolisa “Skom” Langa, by handing over a number-8 shirt to his family. The shirt was given to rugby player, Zuko Gqamlana, who handed it over to his family.
