A woman was arrested at a Bellville shopping centre after being found with 75 mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash.
On the evening of Tuesday September 19, at 6pm, an intelligence driven operation conducted by members of SAPS’ Operation Restore, led to the arrest of the 35-year-old woman, according to provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie.
“The members received information and the description of a female who is dealing in drugs. The information was operationalised and the members found the suspect fitting the description.
“The members ensued with a search and discovered 75 mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash in her possession. Once charged, the suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court for the illegal possession of drugs,“ he said.
Lieutenant-Colonel Pojie could not name the shopping centre where the woman was arrested when Northern News enquired. We also approached Bellville police for more information on the arrest but did not get a response before publishing.
