Police have arrested four young men for robbing a Kuils River liquor store.
Staff at Liquor City, on the corner of Skyvue Drive and Van Riebeeck Road, were reluctant to speak about the armed robbery on Thursday March 17, but, according to the police, the robbers held the employees up at gunpoint and threatened them.
The men, aged between 20 and 26, allegedly stole a box of whiskey and cash before fleeing in a white Toyota RunX.
As police were responding to the call, the officers spotted the car in the area and gave chase.
After a 14km pursuit, the officers forced the vehicle to a stop in Summerville, Kraaifontein.
The RunX had been stolen during a hijacking in Muizenberg the previous Saturday. Police seized a 9mm Norinco pistol as well as the stolen cash and liquor.
They appeared in the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court on Monday March 20.
