Wear crazy socks for a good cause

Wear your crazy socks on Friday June 3 to raise mental health awareness for doctors.

Non-profit organisation Ithemba Foundation and pharmaceutical company Cipla South Africa have partnered again for the 2022 Crazy Socks for Docs (CS4D) campaign, supported by the South African Medical Association (SAMA). The campaign sheds light on the need for mental health awareness and care in the medical industry.

As part of the campaign, fun and funky socks donated by Cipla will be distributed to healthcare workers and students on health sciences campuses across the country. CS4D will also attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest sock sentence.

You can join in by wearing bright, colourful, weird and wacky socks on CS4D Day on Friday June 3 and posting a “sock-selfie” on your social media pages with the hashtag #CrazySocs4Docs as a show of solidarity with healthcare workers and students.

Medical students who post a picture of their silly socks on social media and encourage family and friends to like their “sock-selfie” can win a cash prize for their campus. Posts with the most likes on each of the participating campuses stand to win R1 000 per medical campus.
