The Federation of Unions of South Africa (FEDUSA) and members of the United National Transport Union (UNTU) will gather in Keizergracht Street and march to Parliament on Friday July 26 at 10am.
Other marches will take place in Johannesburg, Durban and Pretoria at the same time, on what has been dubbed the National Day of Protest Action against extremely poor and dangerous passenger trains services.
FEDUSA wants President Cyril Ramaphosa to declare the passenger rail crisis a national disaster and deploy the army to stabilise the situation while crafting a decisive way forward.
Train services will be affected by the strike.
Meanwhile, the transport ministry has appointed a Steering Committee and Ministerial War Room that will address the challenges facing the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).
