A 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman are due to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, on burglary charges.
According to Goodwood police spokesman Captain Wayne Theunis, police arrested two suspects after a camera caught two people breaking into a shop on Voortrekker Road on Wednesday, December 16. Sound equipment and power tools were stolen.
“When we (police) watched the video it showed that the duo who smashed the front door of the property usually hang around the owner’s shop,” he said.
At the scene, the woman was arrested first and the man was found at Parow flea market with the stolen goods in his possession, police say.
In a separate incident, on the same day, a 30-year-old man was arrested after a man was robbed of his jewellery on Tuesday, December 15 .
Police say the victim was walking in Dirkie Uys Street when a man asked him for the time and grabbed his arm, taking three rings including a wedding band.
