Kraaifontein police arrested two suspects for dealing in drugs, alcohol and cigarettes this week.
On Thursday April 30, a 46-year-old woman was arrested for possession of property presumed to have been stolen, dealing in liquor and drugs, as well as contravening the Disaster Management Act.
In a statement released today, provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said the woman was arrested in Buiten Crescent, Scottsdene.
“More than 1300 bottles of liquor were confiscated worth about R200 000. Tik and over R40 000 00 in cash were also seized,” he said.
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old man was arrested for selling cigarettes in contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
Colonel Traut said 2 000 packets of cigarettes were found at a property near Brighton Road and R2 000 cash confiscated.
The suspects are due to appear at the Kuils River Magistrates court on Monday May 4.
