Police arrested three men in Brackenfell on Monday for being in possession of an illegal firearm and breaking curfew.
Police say the men, aged 30, 39 and 41, were in possession of a zip gun and will appear in the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday July 1.
The men had been seen pushing a trolley full of bags in Gemini Street, Brackenfell, at 1.55am, after curfew, and had been found with the home-made gun and a single .38 Special bullet, said Brackenfell police spokeswoman Captain Erica Crous.
They were charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition without a licence and failure to confine to place of residence in terms of the Disaster Management Act.
