Police arrested three men accused of hijacking a woman and her two-year-old child in Goodwood.
According to Goodwood police spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis, three men in a Renault Clio approached the woman on Wednesday June 26, at 8am, and threatened her with knives.
“While the woman was protecting her child, one of the suspects grabbed her car keys and fled with her VW Polo,” he said.
Four days later, detectives Sergeant Bongani Nkombisa and Sergeant Landiso Gaya traced the Renault Clio to a car-hire company at the Cape Town International Airport.

“While police were at the scene, the three men returned to the car and were arrested on the spot. Further investigation led to the discovery of the keys of the stolen VW Polo in the possession of one of the suspects.
“The members went to his address in Blue Downs where they found the car,” Captain Theunis said.
The suspects appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court this week on a charge of carjacking.
