A Bloekombos Secondary School teacher, Vuyo Duna, 37, was gunned down outside his home, which is a stone’s throw away from the school, on Monday morning February 28.
Police spokesman Colonel Andre Traut said they were investigating the killing of the Grade 11 and Grade 12 Xhosa teacher whose body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Zenzile Street.
Mr Duna had been preparing to go to school.
No arrests had been made, Colonel Traut said.
Western Cape Education Department spokeswoman Bronagh Hammond said the department was “deeply saddened” to learn of his death. “Our thoughts go out to the family, friends and the school community.”
The Daily Voice reported that an unknown man had approached Mr Duna outside his home, greeted him with a smile and shot him dead. He had waited outside Mr Duna’s home.
