Police caught a suspected drug dealer with 31 000 mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R916 000, after a high-speed chase in Scottsville on Monday night October 17.
When the driver of a grey BMW spotted a police tactical response team in Kromboom Street, he put his foot down on the accelerator, said Western Cape police spokeswoman Constable Noloyiso Rwexana.
Officers gave chase and stopped the car. They arrested the 26-year-old man after searching the car and finding the drug stash.
The man was expected to appear in the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court this morning, Wednesday October 19 on drug possession charges.
