Six suspects, including five men and a woman, were arrested this week in Brackenfell for allegedly being in possession of a stolen car, dagga and for the theft of the car.
Brackenfell police spokeswoman, Warrant Officer Erica Crous, said the Bellville police precinct had radioed sergeants Etienne Jonas and Chantell Nutt, who were doing routine patrols on Old Paarl Road, to assist other officers who were following a suspicios vehicle.
Police stopped, tested and searched the vehicle, which turned out to have been stolen in Harare, Khayelitsha in 2013. They also found marijuana and a home-made knife, which had a blade of about 30 centimetres, a front-loader and an amplifier, Warrant Officer Crous said.
The suspects, all from Ravensmead, were arrested and appeared at the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Friday June 10.
