Second armed robbery at Brighton Road supermarket

Two men aged 20 and 28 were arrested, say police

Five men robbed the Shamrock supermarket of R5000 cash, two cell phones and R10 000 worth of cigarettes yesterday, October 27.

Two men, aged 20 and 28 were arrested, said police.

This is the second armed robbery at the supermarket along Brighton Road in the past two months.

Kraaifontein police spokesman Captain Hein Hendricks said two of the robbers had pretended to be shopping, while three others had then entered the shop and closed the door.

The robbers had assaulted three people in the shop, he said.
