SAPS prep for season

Kraaifontein police officers and armed-response officers are gearing up to keep crime in check for the festive season.

Kraaifontein police and armed response companies launched their festive season anti-crime strategy last Wednesday.

They plan to be more visible over the holidays and do stop-and-search patrols, particularly in the business areas.

Capital Security CEO, Ruben Myburgh, said they would focus on Sector 3, including Belmont Park and Eikendal, for now, but would expand to other areas, such as Scottsdene and Wallacedene.

Kraaifontein police station visible policing commander, Colonel Alton Magobiyane, said they wanted to make Kraaifontein crime free this Christmas

“Now that it’s the festive season there is a lot of cash that is flowing. So we are preventing cash-in-transit, business robberies and carjacking.

And by doing this campaign we want to win back the trust of our communities particularly business people and see that they are protected.”

Capital Security, SJC Security, Landry Securitas and Gabar Security are part of the campaign.
