The Rotary Family Fun Day will take place at the Blue Train Park in Sea Point next month.
There will be many activities for the young and young at heart on Sunday April 3, from 10am to 3pm. The little ones can enjoy a ride on the recently refurbished mini blue train, play on jumping castles, navigate the obstacle course, or even skate on an open-air ice rink.
“One of Rotary’s major focus areas is early childhood development.
“We will have superb, experienced readers who will be bringing books to life in our story-telling area to encourage children to read,” said Rotarian and organiser of the Rotary Fun Day, Dr Tony Davidson.
“We also foster entrepreneurial projects and ‘Ground Up’, an organisation where baristas are trained, will be on hand to provide delicious coffee and muffins,” said Dr Davidson.
Other food stalls selling lunches will also be on site.
The event is open to the public to meet Rotarians, and to see and experience some of the projects they are involved with.
There will also be a “treasure hunt” raffle with prizes up for grabs.
Entry is R20 for those older than two years old. This allows entry to the Blue Train Park, a ride on the train and the use of all the parks’ facilities.
The open-air ice rink costs an additional R30 per half hour. Visit http://rotary9350.com/rffd/ or find Rotary9350 on Facebook for details.
