Motorists can expect a smoother commute with the recent completion of the R38 million rehabilitation of Giel Basson Drive.

According to Felicity Purchase, mayoral committee member for transport, the project was meant to improve a key section of the road between the N1 off-ramp and Voortrekker Road.

“The road is now open for residents to enjoy and I am impressed with the standard of work delivered by the team and am sure residents will be happy with the improvements,” she said.

“Giel Basson Drive is one of the main access routes in the Parow and Goodwood areas and links various residential suburbs with the nearby commercial nodes. It is also an important access route to the Cape Town International Airport.”
