I share Johan Bouwer’s concern for the fate of the 12-Mile Stone (“Call to preserve Bellville heritage,” Northern News Thursday November 17).
As no government department is really interested in preserving it, I suggest it be moved to the foyer of the Bellville library where it will be protected. It could be mounted on a plinth. The library houses documents about Bellville’s history, so it would be the logical place for the stone.
