Parow CPF gets new chair

CPF spokesperson Jessica de Klerk, Pacrif Neighbourhood Watch vice chair Rozeena Jakoet, CPF chairman Deon Maneveld, temporary project coordinator Shakir Smith, CPF vice chairman Roger Cannon and Parow station commander Colonel Teboho Jacobs.

Deon Maneveld is Parow Community Police Forum’s new chairman. He was elected during a meeting at the police station on Monday February 24.

The CPF represents a range of organisations, including neighbourhood watches, churches, schools and businesses. Anyone from these organisations can join the CPF committee. Once voted in, the members undergo training for the position.

Outgoing chairman Roger Cannon, who now takes the position of vice chairman, said it was important to get young people involved in the forum as many of the troubles in the community affected them. Playing such a role could also give them valuable work experience.
