The office of the municipal ombudsman in Kuils River’s Omniforum building closed on Tuesday and is expected to reopen on Tuesday January 17 next year.
The ombudsman investigates complaints from the public about municipal service delivery, but complainants must first show proof that they have tried to approach the relevant department first to resolve the issue.
Ombudsman walk-in centres in Oxford Street, Durbanville; Ntlazane Road, Khayelitsha; and Liberty Promenade Mall, Mitchell’s Plain will also be closed during this period.
Walk-in services will still be available on the third floor of the Cape Town Civic Centre, at 12 Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town, from 8am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and public holidays).
Public complaints can still be sent by SMS to 44781, by phone to 021 400 5487/1944, by fax to 021 400 5952 and by email to ombudsdirect@capetown.gov.za. Or visit www.capetown.gov.za/ombudscomplaints.
