Scottsville will be without water on Monday February 7 due to the City installing new technology on the Hout Bay water main.
Mayco member for water and sanitation Zahied Badroodien said the City will be carrying out zero pressure tests on the water system in Hout Bay on Monday, from 9pm to 4am, on Tuesday February 8.
Zero-pressure tests check whether a particular area has a watertight water main.
Dr Badroodien said zero-pressure testing did not increase the risk of pipe bursts.
He advised residents to store water in clean and sealed containers for use on Monday night and early on Tuesday. Taps should also be kept closed.
“Managing water pressure more effectively reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage,” Dr Badroodien said.
