The City of Cape Town’s Metro police department arrested 16 motorists for drunk driving and 22 other people for drug-related offences over the weekend.
Mayco member for safety and security, JP Smith, said an 18-year-old was arrested in Parow on Friday June 17.
“Officers searched a house in the area following a tip about drug dealing at the premises. They confiscated various quantities of tik and dagga, as well as nearly R1 500 in cash,” he said in a statement.
On Sunday June 19, officers stopped a vehicle in Parow where they found “a substantial load of counterfeit cigarettes” and arrested two suspects, aged 29 and 30.
