Last week the Northern News introduced the police commanders for Sectors 2 and 3 (“May the force be with you,” Northern News August 30). This week, we profile the commanders for Kuils Rivers’ sectors 1 and 4.
Constable Pieter du Toit is the commander for Sector 1, which stretches from Van Riebeeck Road until, but not including the Stellenbosch Arterial, and until Nooiensfontein Road and then back to Van Riebeeck Road. The train station and CBD are within this sector. Constable Du Toit said muggings were the predominant crime within the sector. “People walk with earphones and their cellphones openly and get mugged,” he said.
