Three of the four people killed in a weekend car crash in Kraaifontein had only recently matriculated from Monument Park High School.
The crash happened on Old Paarl Road in the early hours of Saturday February 17.
Traffic chief Kenny Africa told the Cape Times that it appeared the driver had lost control of the vehicle.
Kraaifontein SAPS attended to the scene and were investigating. The occupants were believed to have been attending a conference in the city at the weekend.
Western Cape Education Department spokeswoman Jessica Shelver confirmed that three of the dead were former Monument Park High School pupils.
“Our heartfelt condolences go to (their) family and friends at this difficult time.”
She said there would be a memorial service at the school tomorrow for the victims.
According to Facebook tributes, the youngsters had been rugby players during their school careers.
Monument Park High declined to comment.
