Masked men take R150 000 in jewellery from home

Two masked men who ransacked a woman’s Hillside Road home in Kenridge, taking four laptops and R150 000 in jewellery, are still at large, say police.

The woman was woken by the sound of one of her windows shattering close to her bedroom at about 12.45am on Sunday July 10, according to Durbanville police spokesman Captain Marchell Rhode.

Later she was confronted by two armed masked men standing by her bedroom door. One was was armed with a crowbar while the other had a gun. They ordered the woman to sit on her bed while they ransacked the house.

“The robbers took four laptops, one iPhone and jewellery to the value of R150 000,” Captain Rhode said.

The men fled when the woman pressed a panic button.
