Man in court for copper theft

Kenneth Misrole, 44, appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on Thursday October 5, on charges relating to the theft and possession of copper cables valued at millions of rands.

Hawks spokesman Captain Lloyd Ramovha said it was alleged that Mr Misrole had sold Eskom copper cables to a scrap metal company on Saturday September 30, and returned with more cables on Tuesday October 3 when he had been arrested by Hawks Serious Organised Crime Unit officers who had been carrying out investigations there.

Mr Misrole was granted R10 000 bail.
